Anxiety Is a Terrible Planner

I always have trouble remembering to pick up my medication. Two days ago I randomly remembered late at night, so I decided to have them shipped to my house so I wouldn’t keep forgetting to pick them up. Well, because of the shipping time, I’ll be out of meds for 2–3 days, and I’m hoping the withdrawal won’t be horrible. It’s Effexor, and I’ve heard it can be pretty brutal, so I am kind of nervous about it. Especially because it’s falling on days I work. I’m also hoping I can stay mentally stable while I wait for the meds to come in. I’m kind of kicking myself for not thinking about shipping time before I had them shipped.

I was anxious about the pharmacy getting annoyed with me again for not picking them up in a timely manner, and that’s what ended up controlling my decision-making instead of checking how much I had left and whether I’d have enough until they arrived.

The lesson here is: anxiety should never be promoted to logistics manager.

I guess we will see how the next few days go.
